Melbourne Square Celebrates Earth Day with Tree Planting in Honor of Pandemic Heroes

Melbourne, FL (April 20, 2021) – Melbourne Square planted a tree in celebration of Earth Day partnership with U.S. Lawns of Brevard. U.S. Lawns of Brevard is dedicated to beautifying our Brevard County community through the work they perform for their clients every day. One of their greatest passions is creating sustainable employment opportunities to help our citizens support themselves and their families, and they are devoted to continued growth to that end. U.S Lawns of Brevard is also committed to the special cause of supporting Veterans through donations and volunteer efforts. For more information on U.S Lawns of Brevard, visit

“As a gathering place for the community, we are committed to improving the lives of our colleagues, guests and the environment,” said Cindy Rodenhizer, General Manager “We are always working to find new ways to manage our carbon footprint and identify environmentally-friendly alternatives that reduce waste, maximize energy efficiency and improve recycling efforts.”

In addition to planting a tree this Earth Day, Washington Prime Group, Melbourne Square parent company, has partnered with the parent company of our preferred print vendor ARC® and the environmental non-profit One Tree Planted to participate in the Print & Plant program for tree reforestation. While printing is essential to our business, WPG is committed to working through ARC and One Tree Planted to replace the trees needed to make our paper. Through WPG’s participation in this initiative, ARC estimates it will plant 1,200 trees in 2021 alone.

Melbourne Square remains focused on providing a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. All Earth Day events will follow Melbourne Square’s COVID-19 safety protocols, including rigorous disinfectant and cleaning practices.

In addition, the Code of Conduct, which is posted at Melbourne Square and available online at, includes the following guidelines:

  • Practice social distancing and stay at least 6 feet (2 meters) from other people
  • Covering your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover in accordance with state and local guidelines
  • Do not gather in groups
  • Adhere to each individual tenant’s COVID-19 policies
  • Adhere to all federal, state and local regulations, recommendations and mandates regarding COVID-19

Celebrated every year since 1970, Earth Day is considered to be the planet’s largest civic event. Melbourne Square is proud to demonstrate its commitment to the community and sustainability through these Earth Day celebrations.
